Threat Assessment
NESD THREAT ASSESSMENT PROTOCOL
The North East School District has an established Threat Assessment Team in each of its three schools. These multidisciplinary teams are dedicated to proactively identifying, assessing, and addressing student behavioral concerns that may indicate risks related to violence, self-harm, or suicide. The primary goal of each team is to prevent any form of harm by implementing supportive interventions and connecting students with appropriate resources, rather than relying solely on disciplinary measures. Each Threat Assessment Team (TAT) includes at least one member from each of the following groups: Administrator, Counselor, Medical Staff, Teacher, Mental Health Professional, School Psychologist, and Law Enforcement. Threat assessment procedures implemented internally by the North East SD are in accordance with the established protocol outlined in the accompanying flowchart.
