eSports
The North East School District Esports Program provides middle and high school students with the opportunity to compete, collaborate, and develop skills through organized competitive gaming. Our teams participate in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Esports League (PSEL), a statewide league coordinated through Pennsylvania’s Intermediate Units, with championship events culminating at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. We also attend the annual Edinboro tournament in the Spring.
At the high school level, students compete in Rocket League, Super Smash Brothers, and Fortnite, while the middle school program fields multiple teams in Rocket League and Super Smash Brothers when participation allows. The program continues to expand, and we anticipate adding Madden as a competitive title next year.
Beyond competition, the North East Esports program also provides opportunities for students who prefer a non-competitive environment, offering dedicated time for players to socialize, build friendships, and connect with peers who share similar interests in gaming and technology. Through teamwork, communication, and strategic thinking, the program helps students develop valuable skills while fostering school engagement and community.
