School Resumes: Monday, December 9

The North East School District will be open on Monday, December 9th. The Borough, Township, and the State are still working to remove snow in our local area; therefore, if your child is a walker, please drive your child to school until the sidewalks are clear during the week of December 9th. Also, the Borough is asking residents to make every effort to clear the sidewalks in front of their residences. The municipalities will be focusing on clearing sidewalks this weekend from Route 20 towards the school. They are concentrating on these areas to assist those that are the most likely walkers to the school.

Please be patient and remind your children to follow safety rules as all times whether driving, walking, or waiting for the bus. Please make sure if your child rides a bus that our bus drivers can visibly see them around the snow banks as well as make sure your child(ren) is not playing on the snowbanks while waiting for their bus.

Again, the municipalities are making every effort to clear the walking paths and we are strongly encouraging families of walkers to drive their children to school during the week of December 9th.

As always, during inclement weather, if you feel it is not safe for your child to get to school, please keep them home.  If you need help, please contact the PA 211 help line (https://www.pa211.org/).
